This calculator uses rule of thumb data which will be more than accurate enough in most cases. It should however, be used with intelligence.

Frequency MHz Signal frequency - leave at 0 for DC>
Reference plane? Select if there is a plane under the track - used to calculate skin depth proximity effect

 
 
Cross sectional area sq. thou sq. mm Cross sectional area of the track
Temperature rise °C Calculated at selected frequency - make sure that you have selected internal or external track above
Skin depth thou µm Skin depth at selected frequency
Skin ratio % Percentage of cross sectional area used at selected frequency
Resistance ohms Resistance of track at selected frequency
Voltage drop mV Voltage drop along track at selected frequency
Power dissipated W Power dissipated in track at selected frequency
